Looking for better safety, more clearance and greater access in their wash bay area, Levanta was engaged to devise an appropriate solution, and supply and install once agreed.

Project Challenge

The Client had an 18 metre long scissor lift installed in a wash bay that was not fit for the purpose of washing vehicles. Levanta was asked to propose a solution to meet the needs of the site and their budget. We worked closely with our suppliers to source a solution which would allow the operators to have greater access to manoeuvre their pressure cleaners under the buses and also minimise vehicle damage that was being caused by scraping on the hoist.

Our Solution

Levanta was able to supply a 25 ton Knuckle Lift with special safety features specifically designed to use in a wash bay. The hoist was also equipped with an optional anti slip coating on the top surface. Because of the unique design of the Knuckle lift we were able to supply a hoist with 14.5 metre runways (which will even allow articulated buses to be serviced on the hoist). To minimise scraping. Special entry and exit ramps were designed with a 2 stage ramp section thus completely removing any scraping of the vehicles on the hoist.

Client Benefit

The client received a well-designed and fully functional wash bay that provided safety for both the technicians working on the buses, and the buses themselves. A great outcome was achieved, including the greater access to manoeuvre around the buses during washes that the client was specifically looking for.
