Holistic approach delivers workshop efficiencies
Levanta has completed a brand new VW and Toyota workshop facility incorporating 28 bays for Bill Buckle Auto Group in Brookvale NSW.
The client’s previous workshop, housed in a 22 bay sawtooth building dating from the early 90s, was demolished to make way for their all-new facility. During the new building’s construction, staff and equipment were relocated to a temporary facility to give the Group time and space to create their ideal layout.
With a ‘clean sheet’ to work from, Bill Buckle Auto Group collaborated with Levanta to plan their ideal new workshop layout.
An integrated workshop encompassing two OEMs
Levanta worked with Bill Buckle Auto Group and their architect over a two year period, getting involved right from the initial planning stages. The exacting process included many face-to-face meetings and had a major focus on incorporating efficiency for their technicians.
One interesting challenge was that Bill Buckle Auto Group’s workshop bays needed to handle a diverse range of vehicles, from the smaller Polo cars right up to larger delivery vans like the long wheelbase Crafter or the Amarok ute.
To meet this need Levanta provided Jager 2 post hoists, scissor lifts that allowed wide-open door access for “under-dash” work, and knuckle lifts for wheel alignment services.
Designing and delivering a comprehensive turnkey workshop fitout
The Levanta team incorporated fully reticulated oils, air, and water to every bay. Additionally three bays were fitted with exhaust extraction equipment via a pull-out hose that clipped onto the vehicle exhaust pipe.
Since the Auto Group handles two different OEMs – VW and Toyota – Levanta’s design incorporated two separate workshops, located either side of the administration facilities.
Each workshop was correctly colour coded according to the OEM’s Corporate Identity requirements, and Dura workshop furniture from the UK offered a high-class and professional finish.
