New Rockhampton Bridgestone franchise fitted out by Levanta

In-house project management team delivers improved efficiencies

Levanta has handed over a brand new, full turn-key workshop fitout for Bridgestone’s Rockhampton branch.

The Bridgestone B-Select franchisee carried out extensive research before locking in a supplier, and spoke to several of Levanta’s previous clients. Their feedback convinced the franchisee to select Levanta for the workshop fitout job.

Andrew Walsh, Bridgestone Australia’s Auto Service Advisor for Queensland, said, “We engaged Levanta because we wanted to partner with an industry-recognised supplier of quality equipment, and somebody who was able to maintain our standards within the partnership.”

The workshop – a new build from the ground up – had to comply with Bridgestone’s Corporate Identity requirements. “It was a “turn-key” build, everything from the floors to brand new equipment, colour matched specifically for Bridgestone,” said Andrew.

Backup service and support for the new equipment would be critically important to the new franchisee. Levanta’s national support network was another key factor in their decision.

Quality workshop equipment and seamless fitouts from Levanta

Bridgestone’s Andrew Walsh summarised the fitout experience: “Everything was very transparent and seamless. I would recommend Levanta to anybody that is looking at establishing a business and wanting to fit it out with new, quality equipment,” he said.

Levanta works with major tyre retailers, dealership chains, the mining industry and many other clients throughout Australia. Our team of fitout experts have the experience to deliver a custom design that meets and exceeds your business’s requirements.

Levanta fitout team works closely alongside Bridgestone

Thanks to Levanta’s in-house project management team, the communication process with Bridgestone’s project management team and the new franchisee was very clear. This took some of the pressure off Bridgestone’s national team to ensure a smooth and timely delivery of the project.

Although the new Bridgestone B-Select franchisee did have prior experience in service stations, they were new to the tyre business. That meant they needed a workshop partner that could recommend the right equipment for the business – not simply supplying a ‘cookie cutter’ design used at other sites.

“With wheel alignments it’s very important to get a car in and out as quickly as possible,” Andrew said. “There’s expectations as to how long they are going to wait for an alignment, so it needs to be streamlined.”

While Bridgestone B-Select have a standard layout for their tyre workshops, Levanta were able to design a slightly better layout for this site, by identifying some specific efficiencies.

And of course, as a brand new business it was extremely important that the workshop fitout delivered the best possible ROI for the budget.

“Where Levanta did quite well was ensuring that the tyre fitting machines were in place in front of the fitting bays,” Andrew said. “This ensured that care of ease and workplace health and safety were all taken into account for the fitters.”

Brisbane Bus Depot – Sherwood QLD

Brisbane City Bus Depot Levanta project

Looking for better safety, more clearance and greater access in their wash bay area, Levanta was engaged to devise an appropriate solution, and supply and install once agreed.

Project Challenge

The Client had an 18 metre long scissor lift installed in a wash bay that was not fit for the purpose of washing vehicles. Levanta was asked to propose a solution to meet the needs of the site and their budget. We worked closely with our suppliers to source a solution which would allow the operators to have greater access to manoeuvre their pressure cleaners under the buses and also minimise vehicle damage that was being caused by scraping on the hoist.

Our Solution

Levanta was able to supply a 25 ton Knuckle Lift with special safety features specifically designed to use in a wash bay. The hoist was also equipped with an optional anti slip coating on the top surface. Because of the unique design of the Knuckle lift we were able to supply a hoist with 14.5 metre runways (which will even allow articulated buses to be serviced on the hoist). To minimise scraping. Special entry and exit ramps were designed with a 2 stage ramp section thus completely removing any scraping of the vehicles on the hoist.
