BHP – Lubrication Container

Due to the enormity and variety of sites, BHP required a rapidly deployable and mobile lubrication storage and dispensing system for Area C. They engaged Levanta to fulfil the brief for their extreme environment in WA.

Project Challenge

BHP Billiton required a mobile lube storage and dispensing system capable of being re-located easily, through the use of existing equipment. The solution needed to be robust and capable of being used in the extreme environment of the Pilbara in Western Australia.

Our Solution

Levanta supplied a custom built 20 sea container, modified to allow for the storage of bulk lubricants as well as smaller volumes in 20 – 208 litre drums. The container was modified to have a bunded area in the base, with a grated floor above the bunded catch area. The Unit was fitted with a bulk lubricant storage tank, hose reels, oil reticulation from the tank and drums to the reels and a compressed air distribution system to provide an energy source for the air driven oil pumps.

Client Benefit

The client received a custom solution which perfectly fit their needs functionally, and as a robust, secure lubrication storage container, while providing BHP with the surety of knowing that the solution is highly environmentally stable and friendly.
